1929 – Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt Threw Bombs in Delhi Assembly

In a dramatic protest against the oppressive British rule and the introduction of the Public Safety Bill and Trade Disputes Bill, revolutionaries Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt hurled non-lethal bombs into the Central Legislative Assembly in Delhi. Their intent was not to cause harm, but to make the “deaf” British government hear the voice of Indian youth. As they raised the powerful slogan “Inquilab Zindabad” (Long Live the Revolution), they courted arrest willingly. During the trial that followed, they used the courtroom as a platform to spread revolutionary ideas and awaken patriotic sentiments across India. This act remains a shining example of courageous resistance during India’s freedom struggle.

1973 – Amendment to the Indian Stamp Act

Understanding this reform helps students trace the history of India’s financial governance.
